Thermador T24ID905RP
The T24ID905RP is a right-hinged 24-inch freezer column with the ice and water dispenser mounted on the exterior. On Thermador’s product page it comes with a stainless interior as well as open-door assist, which lets a panel with no handle swing open at a push.
That assist puts a motorized mechanism on the door. When pushing no longer opens it, we look at the settings before reaching for tools: the Freedom column guide from Thermador names three culprits for automatic opening quitting: demo mode, other special modes, and the force setting. Diamond ice is larger than regular cubes, which makes a chute jam obvious quickly, as slow delivery or none at all. Frost along the door edge sends us to the panel, which may have been pulled out of line, and a weak water stream sends us to the filter date.
Probably not. Look at the settings before assuming a failed motor: a demo mode or another special mode may be switched on, and the opening-force setting can also keep the door from popping open.
Thermador lists 84 inches high, 24 wide and 25 deep. We measure the actual cabinet opening against those numbers before any panel work begins, since a tight cutout can also cause alarms.
Diamond ice is large, so a small obstruction in the chute or a partly clumped bin slows it down. Clearing the path normally restores the flow, and we test the auger afterward.
