Thermador T24UC905DP
Beside the stainless T24UC925DS stands its panel-ready sibling, the T24UC905DP. Behind custom drawer fronts that continue the surrounding cabinetry, it hides a pair of drawers, a filtered ice maker and four cooling modes, and it needs the same opening of 34 1/2 by 24 by 24 inches.
Every pound of a custom front rests on the drawer slides. If a drawer starts to bind or stops closing softly, the front may be heavier than the slides were meant to carry, or mounted off to one side. A front that sits out of line with its neighbors is an adjustment rather than a repair, and we try that first. A freezer drawer that only feels cool usually has had its mode changed. A slow ice maker after a filter change is the last item to check.
Yes. The mounting allows adjustment, so we loosen the brackets, lift the front into line and tighten them again. Nothing has to be replaced, and the drawer itself stays where it is.
Start with the mode. Because there are four cooling modes, a drawer may now be set to refrigerate when you want it to freeze, and a change like that often goes unnoticed.
They can wear them. If a front is too heavy, the drawer starts binding and stops closing softly, so we check the weight against the installation guide.
