Thermador MU30RSC (Professional Series)
Kitchens built around a Professional Series range from an earlier era may have the MU30RSC overhead. ManualsLib’s entry for its Thermador installation instructions treats it as a true 30-inch microwave for mounting above the range. A near-identical number, MU30RSU, has its own entry and looks like a twin. Neither is the current MU30WSU.
Sitting over a cooktop means ventilation duty, so this generation has a complaint that ordinary microwaves do not: a grease filter that clogs and an exhaust blower that wears. A kitchen that lingers with cooking odor is a clue that airflow, not the microwave, needs attention.
The shared list of age problems applies too. The door can lose its latch and fail the interlock switch, the keypad can turn flaky, and the turntable motor and magnetron both wear with years of use.
Often yes. A grease filter clogged with buildup restricts airflow considerably. If cleaning it does not help, the exhaust blower may be wearing out and needs testing.
They appear to be the same over-the-range design from the Professional Series. ManualsLib documents the MU30RSU separately, but the two are closely related, and we confirm which one you own from the data plate.
Today's MU30WSU is the current 30-inch microwave for mounting above a range. It carries on the same ventilation job over the cooktop, with a newer control platform and Home Connect Wi-Fi.
