When an older ESC30 or GSC30 range shows F7, one of its function keys on the panel is being read as pressed continuously, either stuck mechanically or electrically shorted. The legacy document says power must be switched off to clear it, and if the key remains stuck the clock assembly needs replacing. Newer Thermador ovens use F7 differently.
1. Look at the panel for spilled food or moisture around the keys. 2. With the oven off, wipe the surface with a slightly damp cloth and let it dry. 3. Turn the range breaker off for a minute, then back on. 4. If F7 returns, the clock assembly likely needs service; call us.
The legacy document says the error must be cleared by powering down. Pressing Cancel will not do it, so use the breaker after the oven is off.
Moisture or residue around a key can make it read as pressed. Clean carefully with the oven off, and let it dry before restoring power.
If the key remains stuck, the document says the clock assembly is replaced. We confirm on site and quote the work in writing before doing it.
