You hear beeping and the range display lists the letter E with a digit or two beside it. Thermador groups all of these under one general heading and does not hand out a separate explanation for every number. So the screen alone tells us the control caught something it could not resolve and halted a function; which function, and why, depends on the digits together with the model.
1. Shut off whatever burner or oven mode was running, and give the range time to cool. 2. Tap TIMERS, or any other key, to quiet the alert. 3. Jot the complete code down on paper before touching anything else. 4. Perform one reset of the oven side. 5. Should the same characters reappear, stop there and arrange a visit, bringing your note.
Quiet the beeper with a key press, then reset the oven side one time. If precisely the same code shows up again, Thermador's instructions say it is time to contact support.
Better to hold off on the affected function until someone has looked. Another burner or mode might work, but check that rather than assume, particularly when the code survived a reset.
Digits plus model number point us to the starting place. Resetting clears the screen, so a handwritten note saves visit time and keeps the diagnosis from turning into trial and error.
Our technician checks it in your home and hands you a written price before touching anything.
