During a self-clean on an older PDR or PRG range (30, 36 or 48 inch), the blue oven light may flash twice and the heating light three times. That is E7 on the legacy Pro-Harmony control: the cavity got hotter than allowed while cleaning. Self-clean runs very hot, so the control reacts firmly. A newer oven showing E7 is a separate case.
1. Cancel the clean cycle at the control. 2. Leave the door closed and do not try to force it open. 3. Wait for the cavity to cool all the way before touching it. 4. Restore power at the breaker once cool, and do not start another clean cycle; call us if the code returns.
The clean cycle drives the cavity to a very high temperature, so any weakness in sensing or control shows up there first. E7 is the cleaning-specific over-temperature report.
Yes, once it has cooled completely. Hand cleaning avoids the high-heat cycle until the range has been checked by a technician. Use a damp cloth, never harsh sprays on hot surfaces.
Not by itself. The source only describes an over-temperature condition, so we inspect on site and tell you what we find before you spend anything.
Our technician checks it in your home and hands you a written price before touching anything.
