On older Thermador RDF and REF 30-inch ranges, F1 in the display points to a button jammed on the panel or a latch switch that is stuck, covering the lock and unlock switches. The RDF30/RDFS30 Care & Use manual sends owners to its Solving Operational Problems section when F-1 or F-3 flashes. Newer Thermador ovens use F1 differently.
1. Switch the oven off and look at the keypad for anything holding a button down. 2. With the power off, wipe around the keys. 3. Reset by turning the breaker off for a minute. 4. If F-1 comes back, call us; the latch likely needs service.
If F1 goes away and stays away, the cause was likely mechanical. If it comes back, the latch or control needs a look by a technician.
It is the oven control named in the legacy document. If codes persist after every other cause is eliminated, that control is what gets replaced.
Yes, the RDF30/RDFS30 manual says to follow Solving Operational Problems if F-1 or F-3 flashes in the display. We take it from there if that does not help.
Our technician checks it in your home and hands you a written price before touching anything.
