Frost piling up inside the freezer may arrive together with E07. Thermador's owner literature leaves it out, but two independent repair sources tie it to the freezer's evaporator sensor. That sensor reports when a defrost run has finished clearing ice off the coil. If it stops reporting properly, ice tends to accumulate over time. That is why frost often shows up beside it.
1. Cycle power at the breaker. 2. Inspect the freezer for thick ice on the back wall or a weak air stream. 3. Make a note of whether the code showed up along with that ice, because frost suggests a defrost cause. 4. Share the note with the technician.
The control depends on the evaporator reading to stop defrost at the right moment. Without it, defrost may end early or never run, and ice slowly builds on the coil.
It can buy some time, but the code will keep returning until the sensor or its wiring is repaired, so treat it only as a stopgap measure.
Not this minute, but frost chokes airflow and cooling, so book soon and shift frozen food elsewhere if the freezer stops holding temperature. Keep the freezer door closed to slow the frost.
Our technician checks it in your home and hands you a written price before touching anything.
