Thermador HMCB30WS
The HMCB30WS puts a pyramid-shaped stainless chimney over a 30″ range, and at 23 3/16″ deep it reaches farther over the burners than a slim canopy would. Kitchens that cook on all four burners tend to see grease on the lower edge of the canopy first, so that is where we start.
Thermador quotes a noise reduction of up to 35%, which makes any new buzzing stand out. We run all four speeds, listen for wheel imbalance, and look at the damper to be sure it lifts cleanly. The hood can be set up ducted or recirculating; we check the duct run length and the transition at the top of the chimney, since a restricted duct is a more common reason for weak draw than a failed motor.
Finally we test the touch control, the LEDs, delay shut off and, where connected, the Wi-Fi link and Hood Sync pairing with the cooktop.
Grease on the blower wheel or a damper that is not opening fully is the usual cause. We clean or inspect the wheel, check the duct, and confirm all four speeds run smoothly.
It can be either. We test the LED module and its connector first, then the control. We tell you which part is needed and give a written price before replacing it.
Yes. The hood requires 30" above the cooktop, and a hood mounted differently can capture poorly. We measure it when airflow seems weak so we do not replace parts that are fine.
