A 48″ pro-style range is a large source of heat, and the HPCN48WS is the pyramid chimney that tops it. Its width of 47 15/16″ means several baffle filters across the front, and on this size of hood the ones above the outer burners are rarely cleaned as often as those in the middle, so we inspect each one.
Since the hood is ducted, we trace the duct from the top of the chimney to the outside, looking for crushed sections, too many turns, or a damper that has not swung open. A big range and a powerful hood together demand a lot of make-up air, and a house with no provision for it can make doors rattle or pull back-drafts from other appliances.
We also test the four speeds, the Powerfully Quiet System at the lowest setting, delay shut off and the lighting along the whole 48″ length, and give you a written price for any part.
Look for grease buildup on the tracks or a slightly bent frame. If it still won't seat after cleaning, we inspect the filter and its supports and quote a replacement.
