Thermador PH30HWS
Thirty inches is the standard footprint for a freestanding range, and the PH30HWS was made to sit right above one. At 18 inches tall and 24 deep it hangs out over the front burners, so the baffle filters catch a lot of splatter. That is the first thing we look at when someone calls about poor capture: how much grease has built up, and whether the filters were washed in the way Thermador describes.
This hood is no longer available from Thermador, so owners usually call because something has worn after years of heavy use. The damper and the clean filter reminder both matter here. A damper that sticks holds back the exhaust, and the reminder tells you when the baffles need attention.
The remote is an optional accessory, so if it stops working we separate a dead battery or lost pairing from a receiver problem on the hood itself.
Possibly. Delay shut off keeps the fan running for a set time and then stops it. If it runs on forever or stops at once, the control or its timing circuit needs a look.
Heavy grease on the baffles is the most common cause. If they are clean and the draw is still weak, we check the damper and the ductwork next.
Not necessarily. The remote is a separate accessory, so we test its battery and pairing before we assume the hood itself needs repair. A weak battery is the cheapest cause.
