Liberty cooktops are for cooks who move pans around, and the CIT367YM has three large flex zones that sense where the pan sits. MoveMode carries the setting along when you slide a pot, and HeatShift lets you raise or lower power by sliding it between zones. Those clever features depend on pan detection, so most of our diagnosis involves the sensing system.
We run a magnetic pan across each flex zone and watch whether the cooktop keeps its setting. Then we check the PanBoost, which is meant to deliver maximum power for 30 seconds when frying in oil, and the DirectSelect panel on the 50 A, 208-240 V feed.
Thermador names no successor for this model. We match any part to the rating plate and give you a written price first.
MoveMode relies on pan detection under the glass. We test the sensing in every flex zone and the control board that interprets it.
It is listed at 30 seconds of maximum power. If it stops sooner or never starts, we check the zone and the board.
It is listed for 3 zones. If one zone does not respond to the shift, the problem is typically localized to that zone.
