Thermador HDDB30WS
At only 30″ across, the HDDB30WS is the pull-out hood that goes over a standard 30″ range, usually in a kitchen where the owner wants the canopy to disappear when nobody is cooking. That sliding front is the first thing we test: we run it through its full travel, listen for rubbing on the guides, and make sure the fan switches on as it opens.
The hood is ducted but can be converted to recirculation, so we confirm which way it was set up and that the damper opens fully with the blower on. With a 30″ minimum clearance and a height that ranges from 30″ to 42″, a wrong mounting height shows up as poor capture, which we check before blaming the motor. Mesh filters load up with grease quickly, and the filter reminder will keep nagging until it is reset.
If the Wi-Fi link or Hood Sync pairing with an induction cooktop has dropped, we re-establish it and confirm the four speeds respond.
Usually yes. We clean and inspect the slide guides, check for grease buildup or a bent track, and confirm the fan switch triggers properly at the end of travel. You get a written price before we replace anything.
Closing the pull-out section is meant to turn the hood off, and the delay shut off mode may keep it running briefly first. If it stays on or cuts out early, we check the switch and control settings.
Yes, the model is convertible to recirculation mode. We verify the conversion was done correctly and that the filter and damper match how the hood is actually set up in your kitchen.
