Thermador HPIN54WT
The HPIN54WT is the island hood that Thermador lists as the successor to the HPIN54WS, and the difference is in the control. The WS is operated through an app, while the WT uses illuminated buttons and touch control on the hood. For an owner whose home network is unreliable, that is a plain benefit: nothing to pair, nothing to lose when the router resets.
The hood is otherwise a Professional island unit: 53 15/16 inches wide, 26 11/16 deep, and a chimney that adjusts from 30 to 42 inches. It has four speeds, a damper, clean filter reminders and delay shut off.
We begin a service visit from below, with the baffles and the touch panel, then move to the chimney joints and the ceiling plate, where vibration and sound begin. The damper is above the canopy, so we test it by listening and by watching airflow at startup. Thermador shows the hood as no longer available and gives no newer successor.
No. It is controlled by illuminated buttons and touch. The specification lists no app control. Nothing needs to be paired, and a router change cannot affect it.
Vibration passes from the blower into the telescoping sections. Tightening the mounts and checking the wheel usually solves it. Loose mounting screws are the usual cause.
Follow the manual's button sequence after washing the baffles. If it does not clear, we test the control. Hold the buttons as the manual shows for the reminder reset.
