Thermador UCVP36XS
Compared to its UCVM siblings, the UCVP36XS stands 18″ high and adds an LED light, which means the top edge of the panel does more work: it holds the light, the control touches and the filter inlets. When we get a call on this one, the question is often whether the light or the fan is the real problem.
We check the light first, since it shares the top edge with the controls and can fail from heat or moisture. We then raise the panel fully and test the three speeds, looking at how each cassette sits. A 36″ cooktop on an island often produces more grease than owners expect, so the filters and the area below them deserve a look.
With no damper, the duct outside is the next stop, to be sure nothing blocks it. Delay shut off, automatic mode and the filter reminder are tested last, with a written quote before work.
Not usually. We test the LED and its connection first, and quote the part that actually failed rather than the full panel. You approve the price before work.
Thermador lists the UCVP36XS at 18" high with an LED light, while the UCVM models are 15" high without one. We check the label to confirm which unit you have.
Yes, if a cassette is loose or the unit is overdue for cleaning. We examine the filters and the lower housing and clean what we can reach.
