A tiny filter icon blinks on the control panel. According to Thermador's refrigeration troubleshooting page, it either prompts you to change the cartridge or warns that the cartridge is not sitting properly. Some models keep blinking until you press LIGHT / FILTER together with SUPER COOL. The 800-era columns skip the icon and print a sentence saying the filter has to be changed immediately.
1. Put in a new cartridge, or take the old one out and turn it back in until it locks. 2. Cancel the reminder using the button sequence in your manual. 3. Watch whether the icon stays dark. 4. If it blinks again, the cancel step was probably missed.
For certain models Thermador names LIGHT / FILTER together with SUPER COOL, and for the rest it refers owners to the manual, so look up the exact instruction for your model number.
No. Drips after a change usually mean it is not fully locked in. Turn it until it seats, then dry the area and check again after an hour.
Not always. The 800-era columns display a written message about changing the filter right away, instead of the blinking symbol. Both versions simply mean the filter needs your attention.
Our technician checks it in your home and hands you a written price before touching anything.
