Four sealed burners and a 5.7 cu ft oven make the PRL364NLG a practical 36-inch range for a family kitchen that cooks every day without a lot of extras. Thermador still lists the model on its site, without a successor named, so we treat it as a unit that may be in service for years to come.
Sealed burners trap spills around the base, so after a boil-over the first job is cleaning around the electrode and the cap seat. A burner that sparks but will not catch has often been splashed, and drying it out is cheaper than any part. The oven is a different story: the bake side relies on a gas igniter drawing enough current, while Convection Bake adds a fan, so we test heat-up with and without the fan.
Since the range comes with only one telescopic rack, we also look at the rack guides and the door gasket on every visit. The plug and outlet are inspected for heat discoloration.
Water or cleaner is probably trapped around the electrode or under the cap. Let the burner dry fully, reseat the cap and try again. If it still fails, we clean the ports and test the spark.
A little variation is normal, but a large difference suggests a convection fan that is slow, a weak igniter or a drifting sensor. We compare temperatures with a reference thermometer.
Nearly all of it: igniters, sensors, burners, fans and hinges are serviced at the range. We give a written price before starting work.
