ME302JS

Thermador ME302JS

What we most often repair on units like this

  1. Lower oven with no heat, due to its bake element, sensor or relay
  2. Upper oven convection fan that vibrates or stops
  3. Lock that does not release after cleaning
  4. Door hinge dampers failing
  5. CookSmart programs that miscalculate
  6. Display that stays dark or flickers

The ME302JS gives you two 4.7 cu. ft. ovens in one tower, but they are not twins. The upper oven has 13 modes with 3D hot air and True Convection; the lower is a simpler oven with Roast, Bake, Broil and Keep Warm only. When a customer says the oven bakes badly, our first question is which one they mean.

An upper-oven complaint leads to the fan, sensor and elements. A lower-oven complaint, with no convection fan in play, narrows quickly to the bake element, the sensor and the relay. The childproof lock and the electronic door lock sit on both, and the lock can hold the doors shut after Self Clean ends.

With 7600 watts and 40 amps drawn through a single feed, we measure the line voltage before pulling panels. SoftClose hinges on the drop-down doors are another regular item. Parts are quoted in writing before ordering, and everything we install carries a 30-day workmanship warranty.

ME302JSME302JS questions
My lower oven does not get hot at all. Do I need a whole new oven?

Almost never. A dead lower cavity is typically a failed bake element, a bad sensor or a relay. Those are separate, replaceable parts, and we test each one before recommending anything.

Why does only the upper oven offer convection?

On this model the lower oven is listed with Roast, Bake, Broil and Keep Warm, so convection is part of the upper oven's design. That is not a defect, only how the oven is built.

Will Self Clean strain the door lock?

Cleaning takes the cavity to very high heat, which stresses the latch. If it will not release afterward, we test the lock motor and switch rather than forcing the door.
