Thermador T42BT110NS
Stainless doors and a French-door layout define the T42BT110NS, the finished counterpart of the panel-ready T42IT100NP. Total capacity matches at 23.1 cu ft, divided into 15.3 cu ft for the refrigerator and 7.8 cu ft for the freezer, but Thermador fits its own stainless doors at the factory, bringing gross weight to about 715 lb. That is nearly 100 lb above the panel-ready sibling, all of it on the French-door hinges. After several years of service, hinge wear and gaps at the mullion seal are what we look at early.
Dispenser, filter and ice maker (4.5 lb per 24 hours) are the ones used in the rest of the 42-inch BT and IT columns. Dispenser and ice problems get the same order of checks: filter cartridge and Auto Refill presets, then valve or board.
Refrigerator and freezer sections work independently. A one-sided temperature problem means we examine that section, not a shared compressor.
Gross weight is roughly 715 lb for the T42BT110NS against about 617 lb for the T42IT100NP. The factory stainless doors account for most of the gap; they outweigh a bare panel-ready door frame.
Inspect the gasket right at the mullion for tears, flattening or debris. Well-aligned doors still leak when the gasket no longer seals, a different matter from hinge or leveling trouble.
Stainless doors this heavy wear hinges gradually. Catching early sag is cheaper than waiting for the mullion gap to open. A quick hinge adjustment now spares the gasket and the door edges later.
