Thermador KBULT3655E
Thermador’s Use & Care manual calls the KBULT3655E a Built-in Refrigerator, Bottom Mount Model: 36 inches wide, one fresh-food door above a freezer at the bottom. That differs structurally from the side-by-side KBUDT and KBUIT units at 42 and 48 inches. The manual also covers the KBULT3665E, KBULT3675E and KBURT-prefixed siblings, so this is a documented family and no isolated SKU.
The E in the number marks the electronic generation. If the panel or display stops responding while the compressor is audibly running, suspicion falls on the control board, not the sealed system. On a unit this age both are plausible, so that is the first split.
Bottom freezers this old often start leaking air at the door or drawer edge. The result is frost, appearing long before the compressor wears out, so we inspect the gasket and alignment ahead of sealed-system work.
It is a bottom-mount: fresh food behind a single door on top, freezer under it. KBUDT and KBUIT models are side-by-side, with a vertical partition between two doors.
Both carry the E suffix of the electronic-control era, but one is a 36-inch bottom-mount and the other a 48-inch side-by-side, and they are different SKUs. Check your data plate.
The gasket, and whether the door or drawer closes square. Humid air leaking in is the usual reason, and we rule it out before the sealed system.
