These two messages on a TCM24TS or TCM24PS concern the trays under the spout. Empty drip trays can show although they are empty, when the tray is soiled, wet or the emptying was not detected. Insert drip trays can show with the tray in place, when the holder is dirty or the grounds container is not fully inserted.

The tray may be wet or soiled, or the emptying was not detected. Remove it while the machine is on and insert it again, after cleaning and drying it.

What triggers Insert drip trays when the tray is in?

The manual says the tray holder may be dirty, or the coffee grounds container may not be fully inserted. Clean the holder and push the container all the way in.

Why dry the tray?
