A freshly installed or recently moved cooktop shows E9011 and will not run. Thermador documents it for induction models as the appliance not being connected properly. The electronics noticed that the power connection does not match what the installation manual specifies, so it stays locked out until the wiring is right. Until the connection is corrected, expect no heat from any zone.
1. Turn the breaker off and keep it off. 2. Leave the terminal wiring alone. 3. Locate the installation manual and the circuit diagram. 4. Let a qualified electrician or installer compare the hookup with that diagram. 5. Have the model number ready for whoever comes.
It most often appears right after installation. A connection that gradually works loose can trigger it later too, so a cooktop that ran well for years is not ruled out.
Not safely. This is a high-current connection, and checking it properly means disconnecting power and following the wiring diagram, so leave it to qualified hands.
The cooktop model number, the installation manual with its circuit diagram if you have it, and a note of when the code first appeared. Tell the visitor if the cooktop worked before.
Our technician checks it in your home and hands you a written price before touching anything.
