POD301J

Thermador POD301J

What we most often repair on units like this

  1. Rotisserie spit that will not turn or wobbles
  2. Knob or push button that no longer registers
  3. Broil element not heating in Max Broil
  4. Self-Clean that fails to lock or unlock
  5. Convection fan noise
  6. Door hinge dampers worn

A knob-and-button oven is rare among the Thermador singles we see, and the POD301J is one of them. Instead of a touchscreen it has physical push buttons and rotary knobs, so complaints tend to be mechanical or electrical in the switches rather than about a display. A knob that spins freely or a button with no response points straight to the switch or the board behind it.

It has a 4.7 cu. ft. cavity, 13 modes and a rotisserie with its own spit, plus Max Broil and Max Convection Broil. Its named successor is PO301W. Rated at 7300 watts on a 30 amp, 240/208 volt circuit, the oven draws heavily in broil, which is why we check the terminals and the broil element early.

The rotisserie motor, the convection fan and the door latch are the moving parts, so those get tested when relevant. A written price precedes any order, and we back repairs with a 30-day workmanship warranty.

POD301JPOD301J questions
My rotisserie spit wobbles instead of turning smoothly. Why?

Common causes are a worn spit socket, an unbalanced roast or grease in the drive. We clean and test the socket, then the motor, before any replacement.

A knob on my oven feels loose. Is it a part or just the knob?

Sometimes the knob has slipped on the shaft, but if the setting does not register the switch behind it may be worn. We test the switch contacts to be sure.

Is PO301W the replacement for this oven?

Thermador lists it as the successor. Fit and features should be checked against your cutout before ordering, and we can measure the opening to confirm.
