Thermador T36IB800SP
Owners of the T36IB800SP have a bottom freezer from the 800 generation, 36 inches wide and ready for custom panels: two doors, 14 cubic feet of fresh food on top and a 6-cubic-foot freezer below. At 24 inches deep, it is made to sit flush with standard cabinets once the panels are on.
The ice maker lives in the freezer drawer, and its water line runs behind a very heavy cabinet. After a remodel, or any time the unit has been pulled forward, a pinched or kinked tube is a likely reason ice stops, and straightening it costs far less than replacing an ice maker. We begin there, then move on to the evaporator fan feeding the fresh-food side, the drawer slides and the way the door panels hang.
Behind the cabinet. Rolling a 427-lb unit in and out can crimp the water supply tube, so we check that line for a kink before anything else.
Newer 36-inch units want the same width and height of cutout, 36 by 84 inches, yet depth and the water connection should be compared against the new installation guide before anyone orders.
With the freezer still cold, we suspect the evaporator fan that moves cold air upward. A stopped fan starves the fresh-food side, so it is checked early in the visit, along with the airflow path.
