F34 means an older Thermador C, CM or CJ oven did not detect the air switch that proves the upper oven's cooling fan is moving air. Without that confirmation the control will not risk running, because the electronics could overheat. The legacy table lists the air switch, the cooling fan, or an open circuit in the air-switch wiring. Newer Thermador ovens may use F34 differently.
1. Turn the oven off and let it cool. 2. Listen near the oven after restoring power for a fan; do not reach into vents. 3. Wait three minutes at the breaker, then restore power. 4. If F34 returns, leave the oven off and call us.
The control electronics sit near the hot cavity. The fan carries heat away, and the air switch proves it is working. Without that proof, the oven stops to protect itself.
F13 checks whether the air switch is jammed during calibration, while F34 says the switch signal was not detected. The same part can appear in both, so we test it in each case.
Light dusting of exterior vents is fine with the oven off and cool. Do not remove covers or reach inside. If F34 persists, a technician tests the fan and switch.
Our technician checks it in your home and hands you a written price before touching anything.
