What E7010 means

The burners heat as usual, but an E7010 message tells you the cooktop cannot reach something it is meant to talk to. Thermador lists it for induction cooktops only: the unit has lost contact with the home Wi-Fi network or with a range hood it is paired with. It concerns connectivity, not the cooking surface.

Usual causes of E7010

  • The home Wi-Fi network being down or unstable
  • A router replaced or reconfigured since the cooktop last connected
  • Pairing with the range hood dropped or never completed
✓ A safe check worth trying

1. Confirm other devices in the kitchen can use the Wi-Fi. 2. Switch the cooktop off and on again at its own control. 3. If the message returns, write down E7010 exactly as displayed. 4. Contact Thermador support with that code if the network is fine.

! Why you should stop here
  • Because it is about the network, sorting out the router and hood pairing is the sensible first move, not opening up cooktop electronics.
  • Replacing cooktop electronics will not help when the router or hood link is the actual weak point.
Taking off a panel yourself does not by default void a manufacturer warranty, yet it can lead to accidental damage, and some manufacturers attach their own service terms. Read your warranty paperwork, or ask us, before you decide.

E7010E7010 questions
Will I still be able to cook with E7010 on the display?

Yes. The code concerns the network and hood connection only, and the heating zones are not affected, so cooking is not interrupted. You can keep making dinner exactly as before.

Why did it start after I changed my internet provider?

A new router or network name means the cooktop no longer finds the connection it had saved. Reconnecting it to the new network usually resolves the message.

Does a range hood have to be connected for the cooktop to work?

No. The hood link is an optional convenience. If you do not use it, the cooktop heats normally, though the message may still be reported.
