What Leave device to cool means

A TCM24TS or TCM24PS built-in coffee machine shows Leave device to cool and will not brew. The manual says the appliance is too hot and should be switched off for 30 minutes. Running many drinks back to back, or a warm niche around the machine, can bring this on. It is a protective pause, and most of the time simply waiting resolves it.

Usual causes of Leave device to cool

  • Many drinks prepared in a row, leaving the machine overheated
  • Poor air movement around the machine in its installation space
✓ A safe check worth trying

1. Switch the coffee machine off at its power switch. 2. Leave it off for a full 30 minutes. 3. Make sure nothing blocks the area around it and the niche is not heat-trapping. 4. Switch it on and brew again. If the message returns quickly after a rest, call us.

! Why you should stop here
  • If it overheats after a normal rest, the temperature control or the airflow needs testing.
  • Brewing repeatedly while it is overheated can strain the heating parts.
Taking off a panel yourself does not by default void a manufacturer warranty, yet it can lead to accidental damage, and some manufacturers attach their own service terms. Read your warranty paperwork, or ask us, before you decide.

Leave device to coolLeave device to cool questions
How long must I wait?

The manual says to switch the appliance off for 30 minutes. Switching it back on sooner does not give it time to cool, and the message may come straight back.

Is this a sign of damage?

Not usually. It is a protective message that the machine is too hot. It is worth a call only if it appears again soon after a proper 30-minute rest, or on the first drink of the day.

Can the installation cause it?

It can. A niche that traps heat or blocks airflow makes overheating more likely. If the message keeps coming back, tell us how it is installed and we will check it on site.
