What E0100 means

An unexpected stop, then E0100 on the display. Thermador documents this code as a problem in the heat pump motor circuit. The control tried to power the motor that drives the heat pump and did not get the response it needed, so it ended the cycle instead of running on with damaged hardware. The cycle ends early because continuing with an unresponsive motor could damage other parts.

Usual causes of E0100

  • A heat pump motor that has failed
  • A wiring or circuit problem on the way to that motor
✓ A safe check worth trying

1. Switch off the breaker feeding the dishwasher. 2. Count to thirty. 3. Switch the breaker back on and wait for the display to start up. 4. Begin a short cycle and see whether E0100 reappears. This breaker reset is Thermador's first recommended step for this code.

! Why you should stop here
  • When a breaker reset leaves the code in place, the motor circuit needs to be measured by a technician.
  • Wiring and motor checks involve line-voltage parts that should only be touched with the power isolated.
Taking off a panel yourself does not by default void a manufacturer warranty, yet it can lead to accidental damage, and some manufacturers attach their own service terms. Read your warranty paperwork, or ask us, before you decide.

E0100E0100 questions
Is resetting the breaker safe to try?

Yes, it is the first step Thermador itself recommends for this code. Do it at the panel, with the dishwasher idle, and avoid opening any part of the machine.

What if E0100 returns after the reset?

Then the motor or its wiring is the likely culprit. Stop running cycles, write down the code, and let us test the circuit before any part is ordered.

Does this affect drying?

It could, because the heat pump drives both heating and drying. The code itself concerns the motor circuit, but a weak heat pump usually shows as damp dishes as well.
