F2 on older Thermador SC, SCD, SM and SMW ovens is tied to self-cleaning. After an hour into the cycle, the control detected a temperature at the oven sensor, or the door light coming on, that it did not expect. It then stops the cycle. Because a cleaning cycle runs very hot, treat F2 as a code to have checked before you try cleaning again.
1. Cancel the cycle with OFF and let the oven cool completely. 2. Reset power at the breaker for 3 minutes. 3. Do not run another cleaning cycle. 4. Record F2 and your model number and call us. Leave the sensor plug alone.
In the self-clean routine, the control also watches the door light circuit. A light coming on at that stage is a reading it flags with F2.
We would wait for the sensor check. If the sensor reads wrong, bake temperatures can be off too, even if cooking seems to start normally.
It is the expected sensor resistance at room temperature from the service document. A technician compares your reading to it at the molex plug. Tell us whether it happened during baking or cleaning.
Our technician checks it in your home and hands you a written price before touching anything.
