F8 on a legacy ESC30 or GSC30 range is a supervisory error between the analog and digital sides of the control, and it cancels the current cook mode so the oven stops heating. The legacy document says to reset with the Cancel key and replace the clock assembly if it persists. Newer Thermador units show F8 differently.
1. Press Cancel to clear the message. 2. Set the oven again from scratch. 3. If F8 reappears during cooking, turn the oven off. 4. Call us to look at the clock assembly rather than restarting dinner again and again.
F8 cancels cook mode as a precaution. The supervisor found a mismatch and chose to stop heating rather than continue unchecked. Cooking can restart after a reset.
Sometimes it clears for a while. If it returns, the legacy document points to replacing the clock assembly, and we confirm that on site. Replacement is the last step.
Both are supervisory but different: F9 relates to the door latch and cancels clean mode. Use the exact code you see when you call us.
Our technician checks it in your home and hands you a written price before touching anything.
