A pattern of two blue oven-light flashes followed by one heating-light flash on an older PDR or PRG range (30, 36 or 48 inch, legacy Pro-Harmony gas or dual-fuel) means the control logged E5, potentiometer failure. The potentiometer turns an input position into a signal, so the control can no longer trust what you set. Current Thermador ovens assign E5 elsewhere.
1. Count two flashes, then one, and write it down. 2. Turn every setting on the panel to off. 3. Wait a few minutes and restore breaker power. 4. If the settings feel loose or erratic, or the pattern comes back, stop using the range and call us.
It converts the position of an input into a signal the control can read. When it fails, the control may receive wrong or unstable settings, so it reports E5 and asks for service.
Wiping the surface is fine once the range is off and cool. But E5 points to the part behind the panel, which cleaning will not reach.
We cannot promise a timeframe from a code alone. After we check the model and the failed part, we explain the plan and quote the repair in writing.
Our technician checks it in your home and hands you a written price before touching anything.
