The MEM301WS is a combination wall oven that does not follow the speed-oven pattern. Up top sits a 4.5 cu ft convection oven; down below is a 4.7 cu ft cavity that cooks by microwave and nothing else, with no bake or convection modes at all. The two cavities draw 10,200 watts between them.
That division shapes our testing. If the lower cavity heats nothing, we work through the magnetron, the high-voltage diode and the turntable motor. If the upper oven is cold, we turn to its convection elements and fan.
The upper oven alone gets Air Fry, the 2-Hour Self-Clean cycle and the Single-Point Temperature Meat Probe. When a customer says the oven stopped working, our first question is which door, because the answer points us to a completely different set of parts.
No. Thermador's spec sheet lists Microwave as the only cooking mode for the second cavity, so unlike speed-oven combination models it adds no convection or broil.
Just the upper cavity. In Thermador's spec table the probe is listed under the primary cavity, and the microwave beneath it has none, so probe errors are always an upper-oven matter.
Almost never. The microwave has its own power parts, so no heat there usually points to them. The top oven works from separate elements and a fan, so it can stay perfectly normal.
