Cooktop Repair in Houston

Thermador cooktops split into gas models with sealed burners and induction or electric models with touch controls. Each has its own failure patterns and display codes, so we start by confirming which platform you own.

01What goes wrong

Typical cooktop problems we repair

Listed roughly by how often we meet them in Houston homes.

01

Gas burner clicks but will not light

02

Cooktop locked in demo mode ("dE")

03

Zone overheats and cuts out (F1/F2/F4/F6)

04

F5 appears though the pan has cooled

05

Wi-Fi or hood link drops, wireless sensor reports errors

06

Zone stops after long use (F8 with H/h)

Gas cooktops from Thermador depend on sealed burners, spark igniters, and mechanical knobs. Induction and electric models run on touch-control electronics instead, with documented codes of their own. dE signals demo mode. F1 and F6 point to zone overheat, F2 and F4 to electronics overheat, and F5 to cookware sitting too close to the control panel. F8 with an H or h means a zone ran long enough to reach its automatic time limit.

A few induction codes, namely E7010, E9000/E9010, and E8204-E8206, concern Wi-Fi, the hood connection, and the optional wireless cooking sensor, not the cooktop surface. Since gas and electronic models break in unrelated ways, we identify your platform first and then work from the documented code behavior.

05Cooktop questions
The display on my Thermador cooktop says dE and nothing heats. Why?

That code means demo mode, which keeps the zones from heating. It is a setting rather than a broken part, but the way out varies by model, so call us if you cannot find it.

What does an F5 on an induction cooktop mean when my pan is cool?

F5 relates to hot cookware sitting near the control panel. If it persists after everything has cooled and been moved away, the sensing electronics should be checked, which we can do.

Why did my cooktop turn a zone off after hours of cooking?

F8 together with an H or h shows that a zone ran continuously until the automatic time limit stopped it. Turn it off and back on. If it repeats sooner than expected, we inspect the controls.
