A single "6" shows where you might expect a code, and nothing else is wrong. Thermador documents this indicator as meaning there is no rinse aid in the dishwasher, and it is not an error. The dispenser has been emptied by many cycles, and the machine is asking for a refill. Nothing is broken, and the reminder goes away once the dispenser has been refilled.
1. Open the door and find the rinse-aid dispenser, usually next to the detergent compartment. 2. Open its cap and pour in rinse aid up to the fill mark. 3. Wipe up any spill, since extra rinse aid can leave suds. 4. Close the cap, shut the door and run your next cycle.
Dishes and glassware may show spots and dry more slowly, but the machine itself takes no harm. A refill brings the finish back. We are an independent service, so the advice is plain.
Some displays report notices by number. Thermador documents the 6 as a notice, so no code lookup or repair is needed. That keeps the visit short and the quote clear.
Close the door and finish a cycle, since the display may clear after the next wash. If the number remains, tell us and we will check the level sensing.
Our technician checks it in your home and hands you a written price before touching anything.
