What E3300 means

E3300 and E3400 are listed together by Thermador with a single explanation: the filling system is not taking in water as intended. Compared with E3200, where the level merely ended up short, this pair says the intake itself is obstructed or not occurring. The wash cannot begin, and the number stays up. The wash cannot begin until water enters, so the number remains on the display.

Usual causes of E3300

  • A crushed, kinked or damaged inlet hose
  • A supply valve shut or open only a crack
  • A blockage in the filling system that the board cannot remove by itself
✓ A safe check worth trying

1. Examine the inlet hose along its length for a bend or damage. 2. Make sure the supply valve is open. 3. If you spot dripping, close the supply. Those steps are the full extent of what Thermador publishes for owners, so if both look fine, call us.

! Why you should stop here
  • With the hose and valve cleared, what remains sits inside the machine, behind the water connection.
  • Starting cycles repeatedly against a blocked intake forces the fill valve and pump to labor for nothing.
Taking off a panel yourself does not by default void a manufacturer warranty, yet it can lead to accidental damage, and some manufacturers attach their own service terms. Read your warranty paperwork, or ask us, before you decide.

E3300E3300 questions
Why do two numbers share one description?

Thermador combines them, so the opening checks are identical. The distinction mostly helps whoever reads the board, not whoever checks the hose. Ask us anything that is unclear before work starts.

Might the machine's own intake screen be clogged?

It might, and once the hose and valve are cleared, it is a sensible place to look. A clogged screen limits flow just as a bent hose does.

Is E3400 handled differently?

It deserves extra caution. The owner manual describes E3400 as water flowing in without stopping, so shut off the supply first. Please read that entry separately.
