Picture a single 30-inch column holding three separate cooking spaces: that is the MEDMCW31WS. At the top, a 4.5 cu ft cavity offers 36 modes (Microwave among them) along with a Rotisserie. Beneath it, a 3.7 cu ft convection oven provides 16 modes. The lowest cavity, 1.9 cu ft, is given over to warming-drawer functions. Thermador currently shows the model as out of stock, which affects how we plan parts.
Every one of those cavities answers to the same control interface, so before any part is ordered we establish which cavity is really at issue. If a complaint involves microwave heat, only the top cavity can be responsible, since neither lower cavity has that function.
Features borrowed from Thermador’s higher-tier double ovens, namely the Multi-Point Temperature Meat Probe and MaxBroil, are spread over three cavities here. Rotisserie drive wear, the warming-drawer element and each cavity’s door lock complete our check.
In the top cavity, whose 36 cooking modes include Microwave. The center oven offers 16 convection modes only, and the bottom cavity is reserved for warming-drawer functions.
Thermador still lists it, and we confirm part availability by model number before quoting a repair. We confirm availability before quoting.
Typically not. The warming-drawer cavity has its own element, so a failure there does not stop the two ovens above from working. We test each cavity separately.
