Few of the ovens we service ask as much of water as the PODS302W. It stacks two 2.8 cu. ft. Full Steam ovens in one tower; the upper offers 17 modes, the lower 16 including a Steaming Level. A stack like this serves a cook who steams vegetables below while roasting above, and each cavity needs its own pump, valve and heater working properly.
Service starts by finding which cavity is misbehaving. If baking works but steam does not, scale in the generator or a blocked line is the usual reason; if neither works, we turn to the 8350 watt, 40 amp supply and the control. PODS302B is the successor listed for it.
Door seals matter more than you would expect, because steam that escapes forms moisture around the cabinet and disturbs performance. We check seals, descale if needed, test the pump and the water path, then move to the rotisserie and the probe if relevant. Your written quote comes before we order parts.
Each cavity has its own steam generator and pump. Scale, a stuck valve or a blocked line in the lower cavity is the usual reason. We test the water path and the heater there.
Follow the manual's descaling instructions, which use the recommended solution. If the cycle fails or alerts return, a technician should check for a blocked pump or heavily scaled generator.
Thermador lists PODS302B as the successor. We would confirm the cutout opening, the electrical rating and any water supply details on site before saying that it fits your cabinet.
