Thermador DWHD661EPR (Panel-Ready)
This one is the cabinet-front edition of the Star Sapphire spec, the highest panel-ready tier in the current line-up. Its 42 dBA rating, StarDry drying and built-in softener match the EFM and EFP, and it sits behind a cabinet panel the owner supplies.
With this much packed in, a service call can touch four different things, and we try not to let one explain all the rest. Panel fit and hinge feel come first, because they are the quickest to confirm. The softener and its salt are next as a maintenance check. The Zeolite chamber and fan (E2120/E2130) are examined on their own, and drain or inflow codes bring us back to the filter, pump and inlet. Treating each area separately keeps the diagnosis honest.
No. Topping up salt and checking regeneration are the same tasks whatever front panel or handle style the dishwasher happens to wear. Panel-ready or not, the maintenance is the same.
The enclosure can slightly change how loud it seems in the room, though the sound rating is measured on its own, apart from how the dishwasher was installed.
With the code on the display, then panel fit and softener salt. Both of those are quick to rule out, so they come ahead of any deeper work.
