F14 on a Thermador C271, C272, C301, C302, CM301, CM302 or CJ302 oven reports an EEPROM error on the control display board, the chip that stores settings. The legacy table's action line reads replace power/relay board, printed exactly that way in the source, even though the error names the display board. We check both on site, and newer Thermador ovens may use F14 differently.
1. Use the three-minute reset only: touch OFF or flip the breaker, wait, then restore power and see if the display starts normally. 2. If F14 reappears, note it and call us. Do not open the control section; both boards are connected to mains-fed parts.
It is a small memory chip that keeps settings even without power. If it cannot be read or written, the control cannot trust its own configuration, so it shows F14 and stops.
The service table prints replace power/relay board as the action. Because the error text names the display board, we verify on site which board has failed before quoting.
The manual's three-minute reset may clear a one-time glitch. A stored-memory problem tends to return, and then the oven needs an inspection and a written quote from us.
Our technician checks it in your home and hands you a written price before touching anything.
