Owners of older Thermador CT and CMT ovens with the Dreefs control may find E8 locked on the display with no error tones. The service document calls it a control board problem, says the oven is unusable and the board should be replaced. Heat is off on the failed oven, and the error stays until the board is repaired and the oven is powered back up. Clearing it with the knob is not expected to last.
1. Turn the selector knob to OFF and look at the display. 2. Switch the oven off at its breaker for a minute, then restore power. 3. Note whether E8 returns right away. 4. If it does, keep the oven off and call us. No knob adjustments or panel removal are needed on your part.
The source notes no error tones for this code. The display message is the only alert, so check the oven window if it seems dead or will not heat.
Heat is off on the failed oven, and the source does not say the other cavity is affected. If both cavities misbehave, tell us, since the board controls everything.
That depends on the model, part availability and price. We confirm by model number, then quote in writing before any work, so you can decide with real numbers.
Our technician checks it in your home and hands you a written price before touching anything.
