Thermador DWHD440MFP (Professional Collection)
A dishwasher from before the Sapphire and Star Sapphire naming, the 440MFP belongs to a legacy line that split its range simply into Professional and Masterpiece collections. It is rated for 15 place settings, which Thermador’s later 14- and 16-setting models do not use, and it has no third rack and no softener.
Even at this age it still uses the electronic drain and inflow error codes Thermador documents, so we read the exact code on the display and go from there. Because the model has long been out of production, we confirm early in the estimate whether the parts can be sourced. Hard water leaves its mark with no softener on board, so scale is a recurring item.
Give us the model and serial number from the rating plate when you book. For a legacy unit, that is what lets us check parts before the visit.
The figure reflects the rack design and test standard of the time. It is not a sign of a problem or a modification. Capacity ratings were set by the test standard in use when the model was built, so they are not comparable one-to-one.
That depends on the problem and on parts. Replacing a drain pump or an inlet valve can still pay off even on an aging machine. We would rather say so plainly than quote a repair that makes little sense for the age of the unit.
Read the code on the display, then confirm parts availability, so the decision to repair rests on solid information. For a machine this old that order matters, because a repair that cannot be completed helps nobody.
