MED301LWS

Thermador MED301LWS

What we most often repair on units like this

  1. Oven that will not reach or hold set temperature, often a bake or convection element or a sensor
  2. Convection fan that rattles, squeals or stops, which upsets every convection and air fry mode
  3. Meat probe that is not detected or reads wildly wrong
  4. Rotisserie spit that does not turn or a drive motor that stalls under a heavy roast
  5. Door that sits out of line on its left-hand hinge, or a latch that will not release after a clean
  6. Home Connect link that drops off the network

A left-hinged door tells you how the kitchen was planned: the MED301LWS is a single Masterpiece wall oven, 29 3/4 inches wide, built into a 27 x 28 1/2 x 23 1/2 inch cutout so the door swings away from the adjoining counter. Owners tend to be home cooks who actually use the rotisserie, the air fry mode and the probe.

A 4.5 cu. ft. cavity driven by 6400 watts on a 30 amp, 240/208 volt circuit puts real load on the elements and relays. Sixteen cooking modes mean sixteen different combinations of bake element, broil element and convection fan, so when one mode misbehaves and another does not, that pattern narrows the search quickly.

We begin by checking the supply voltage at the oven, then the temperature sensor and the element that the failing mode calls for. The 4,800 watt Maxbroil and the rotisserie motor get their own test if the complaint involves them. You get a written price before any part is ordered.

MED301LWSMED301LWS questions
The oven bakes unevenly but broils fine. Where do you start?

We run the same bake test in convection and conventional mode. If only convection is uneven, the fan or its relay is the suspect; if both are off, we check the bake element and the sensor reading against a calibrated thermometer.

My meat probe stopped registering. Is the oven broken?

Usually the probe or its receptacle is the culprit, not the control. We test the probe resistance, inspect the socket for grease or a bent contact, and only then look at the oven board.

Can a 12 pound roast on the spit overload the motor?

The rotisserie is rated for up to 12 pounds, so a balanced roast at that weight is within design. A stalled spit with a lighter load points to a worn drive, a binding bearing or unbalanced trussing.
